Random55's 'Successful Attempts At Failure' CD Out Now On Sinister Muse Records

Sinister Muse Records has released the long-awaited CD-EP from seminal Chicago punk rockers, Random55. The tracks on the EP were culminated from thousands of requests that have streamed in to the band over the years.

The 6 songs represent Random55’s heyday from 1995 to 1997 when the band abruptly broke up after a tour with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Random55 has performed with the likes of MEST, Merle Allin & the Murder Junkies, Integrity, The Arrivals, The Tossers, Fang, Wesley Willis, Question Mark and the Mysterians, among others.

Remixed by Matt Allison (Alkaline Trio, Lawrence Arms), Random55’s limited edition ‘Successful Attempts At Failure’ CD-EP represents the previously unreleased gems from 1995 to 1999. It includes fan favorites Dear Near, I Don’t Care and Bulletproof.

The CD is available through SinisterMuse.com, Amazon.com, SmartPunk.com, InterPunk.com, and CDBaby.com.

Sinister Muse Releases Long-Awaited 'Hearts In Tune' By NY Pop-Punkers The Tattle Tales

Sinister Muse Records has released the critically acclaimed ‘Hearts In Tune’ CD by New York pop-punkers The Tattle Tales.

The CD contains 12 tracks of pop-punk gems like ‘Lucky Girl’ and ‘So Wanna Kiss You’.

While some are happy to discount the great pop bands that have littered the musical landscape over the last 50 odd years, The Tattle Tales’ ‘Hearts In Tune’ embraces bands like the Beach Boys, the Zombies, Elvis Costello, Green Day and Weezer with their collective arms and pause with them in a heart-warming group hug that’s a little bit cloy, but never uncomfortable for anyone.

Dead Town Revival’s debut release, ‘Hasta La Muerte’, can best be described as a “punch to the face, for those that enjoy pain.”

‘Hasta La Muerte’ was recorded and produced by Andy Gerber (Local H, Smoking Popes, The Tossers, Cheap Trick) and exemplifies the new breed of Chicago-style punk rock.

Order the CD now for $13 postage paid from Sinister Muse Records’ web store or from a host of other retailers like Amazon.com, iTunes, CDBaby.com, InterPunk.com, DownloadPunk.com or your favorite record store.

Sinister Muse and Empyrean Records Announce the Signing of Chicago's THE FRANTIC. THE FRANTIC to Play WARPED TOUR Dates.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 25, 2007

Sinister Muse and Empyrean Records Announce the Signing of Chicago’s THE FRANTIC. THE FRANTIC to Play WARPED TOUR Dates.

As the entire music industry scrambles to redefine what it means to be a band in the 21st century – when it’s not as much about record labels throwing money around and radio spinning a tune to a mass audience who will in turn run out and buy the albums, as it is about finding an audience the old DIY way of playing shows and meeting fans – a group of high school friends, from the southwest suburbs of Chicago, called The Frantic are too busy making music to give the old business side of things much thought.

“We just like to have fun up on the stage,” says 17-year-old vocalist/guitarist Kyle Driscoll.

The band may be young (Kyle and guitarist Ian Farnesi are both 17, while bassist Chris Farnesi and drummer Brett Hartwell are 18), but don’t let their age fool you. They’ve been playing together since they were 9 years old (“we weren’t too good at age 9…we were just making noise,” they say with a laugh). While what began as a bunch of kids playing punk and rock covers in their parents’ basements has since evolved into a well-versed punk rock band who have opened shows for Riverboat Gamblers, U.S. Bombs, Pink Spiders, and The Street Brats and are set for a stint on the 2007 Warped Tour via the Hot Topic/Kevin Says stage, that initial passion to play that brought them all together when they were barely out of the sandbox continues to grow by the day.

After their high-energy live show blew the mind of famed multi-platinum producer Mudrock (Riverboat Gamblers, Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Alice Cooper), the wide-eyed band of teens were flown out to L.A. where they recorded their debut full length for Sinister Muse Records, ‘Audio & Murder’ (to be released by Sinister Muse Records/Empyrean Records in October 2007 – distributed by Warner Music Group’s Alternative Distribution Alliance). Like hometown pop-punk heroes Alkaline Trio, The Frantic’s music has found that fragile balance between pop and punk that can simultaneously cause a nose bloodying circle pit and mass sing-a-longs.

Like the hair metal bands of the 80’s, of which The Frantic sound nothing like, by the way, these boys are set on enjoying life as a rock ‘n’ roll band. They’re not here to make a fashion statement and their main goal is to play for as many people as possible. After playing the same venues in their same small town for 4 years, they’re bursting to get on the road and take on the world. Well, here they come.

Catch The Frantic on the following VANS WARPED TOUR dates:

Jul 28 2007 :: VANS WARPED TOUR – First Midwest Bank Amphitheater: Tinley Park, IL (on the Hot Topic…Kevin Says Stage)

Jul 29 2007 :: VANS WARPED TOUR – Metrodome: Minneapolis, MN (on the Hot Topic…Kevin Says Stage)

Jul 31 2007 :: VANS WARPED TOUR – Marcus Amphitheater: Milwaukee, WI (on the Hot Topic…Kevin Says Stage)

“Please stop by the Sinister Muse Records tent at Warped Tour during these 3 dates before and after The Frantic performances to meet the band and get free stuff.”

THE FRANTIC are:

Kyle Driscoll :: Lead Vocals and Guitars
Chris Farnesi :: Bass and Vocals
Ian Farnesi :: Guitars
Brett Hartwell :: Drums and Vocals

About Sinister Muse Records:

Sinister Muse Records was founded by music industry veteran, entrepreneur, and musician Christian Picciolini, with the aim of starting an artist-friendly music company from a musician’s point of view. Christian brought in friends and equally respected artists and industry professionals to join him in bringing equality and passion back to the indie label set. The goal is to create an atmosphere of mutual respect between the artist and the record company. SMR goes beyond the typical record label experience and does whatever is necessary to build a strong bond between label and artist. The label vows to support and develop their artists by being technologically vigilant, compulsively proactive, blindingly fair, keeping the artist’s vision in mind and giving them control of their sound.
About Empyrean Records:

Based in the historic town of Warren, Rhode Island, the label’s focus is to simply share the music they love with people who love music. The ever-expanding Wishing Tree Records Group now houses two independent record labels, Track Star Media (a retail marketing firm specializing in arts and entertainment), and has major international retail distribution through SC Distribution and ADA (Alternative Distribution Alliance).

About The Frantic:

The Frantic are a young band from the Windy City burbs, the guys are each old enough to drive but not old enough to drink (legally anyway). A couple of them are old enough to do their civic duty and vote.

Playing together since the age of 9, the band members (singer/guitarist Kyle Dee, guitarist Ian Farnesi, bassist Chris Farnesi, and drummer Brett Hartwell) joke they weren’t very good back then. “We were just making noise,” they confess.

Well now that noise is loaded with angst and attitude, and mosh pits of the world better look out because Audio & Murder is 11 fast-paced, punk rock anthems; Although “Movin’ Along” (track 5) comes out of nowhere and slows things down a bit with its country flavored charm.

Having already played Warped Tour, The Frantic has also shared stages with Bad Brains, Bad Religion, Riverboat Gamblers, Pink Spiders, Chiodos, New Found Glory and Youth Brigade to name a few. One of their out-of-control performances caught the eye of famed multi-platinum producer Mudrock (Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Riverboat Gamblers, Alice Cooper) who was so impressed he flew them out to L.A. and produced their debut album Audio & Murder.

“I first saw The Frantic on a small stage in Chicago,” Mudrock recalls. “I watched as the crowd became mesmerized by the pure punk energy rolling off the stage. Kyle was riveting in his performance, somewhere between Pete Shelley and a 90lb Joe Cocker. Never had I seen a band so young play with such confidence and conviction. The songs were tight and every detail was razor sharp. I was blown away!”

Fans should note that amongst all the available copies of Audio & Murder will be five backstage passes, think Willy Wonka and his golden tickets, where the lucky, random winners will each be able to have their very own private, ear splitting concert for up to 50 friends courtesy of The Frantic.

Audio & Murder will be in stores October 30th on Chicago indie, Sinister Muse Records.

The Frantic Featured Artist On MusicRemedy.com

Story from:
http://www.musicremedy.com/t/The_Frantic/album/Audio__Murder-4601.html

As the entire music industry scrambles to redefine what it means to be a band in the 21st century when its not as much about record labels throwing money around and radio spinning a tune to a mass audience who will in turn run out and buy the albums, as it is about finding an audience the old DIY way of playing shows and meeting fans – a group of high school friends, from the southwest suburbs of Chicago, called The Frantic are too busy making music to give the old business side of things much thought.

“We just like to have fun up on the stage,” says 17-year-old vocalist/guitarist Kyle Dee.

While what began as a bunch of kids playing punk and rock covers in their parents basements has since evolved into a well-versed punk rock band who have opened shows for Riverboat Gamblers, Bad Brains, The Casualties, U.S. Bombs, Youth Brigade, Pink Spiders, Treaty Of Paris, Dillinger Four, and many more and have performed on the 2007 Warped Tour via the Hot Topic/Kevin Says Stage, that initial passion to play that brought them all together when they were barely out of the sandbox continues to grow by the day.

After their high-energy live show blew the mind of famed multi-platinum producer Mudrock (Riverboat Gamblers, Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Alice Cooper), the wide-eyed band of teens were flown out to L.A. where they recorded their debut full length for Sinister Muse Records, AUDIO & MURDER (to be released by Sinister Muse Records/Empyrean Records in October 2007).

Press Quotes
“Say hello to The Frantic, an honest-to-goodness high school rock band with crafty punk leanings so close to Rise Against’s early days it’s scary….”- Beep

“With a foundation cemented in straight up punk and a shell accented with catchy hooks and just enough mainstream flair, The Frantic are sure to be another Chicago-spawned phenomenon…”- Popularunderground

“This week marks the release of The Frantic’s fast and fun album…If you’ve been itching for some new punk rock in your life then this is a great album for you…” – Drivenfaroff
Who is who?
Kyle Dee :: Lead Vocals & Guitars
Chris Farnesi :: Bass & Vocals
Ian Farnesi :: Guitars
Brett Hartwell :: Drums & Vocals
